Welcome to Planet A—there is no Planet B

Planet A: Building a Better Future

At Planet A, we believe in a future where buildings are better—smarter, healthier, and more sustainable. Our mission is to address climate change through real, practical decarbonisation actions in the built environment.

By integrating cutting-edge research and development with real-world solutions, we create buildings that consume less energy, maximise renewable energy utilisation, and enhance the well-being of the people who live and work in them.

Purpose and Balance: A Planet-First Approach

Planet A is more than a name—it’s our philosophy.

We believe that balancing sustainability with practicality is the key to making real progress in decarbonisation. By working at the intersection of research, innovation, and application, we develop solutions that don’t just sound good in theory but work in practice.

Our projects deliver tangible benefits to homeowners, landlords, developers, and the wider community, ensuring a future where better buildings lead to a better planet.

Better Building Techniques: Healthier, More Efficient Homes

Buildings should be places of comfort and well-being. That’s why we tackle problems like mould, damp, and poor air quality—issues that lead to bad health and costly inefficiencies. Our solutions focus on creating cosy, affordable, and clean living environments, using advanced and effective heat delivery and ventilation systems, high-performance insulation, and developing innovative products that enhance environments and efficiency.

Really pleased with the service and expertise provided by Planet A on their thorough energy modelling and due diligence work relating to a dynamic new business opportunity for Treveth. This will enable us to better utilise renewable energy on our future schemes, for the benefit of residents and tenants, as well as securing significant carbon savings.

Greg SlaterTreveth, RIBA | Head of Design, Decarbonisation & Environment

We have worked with Planet A on a number of educational and training initiatives related to sustainable energy systems and Planet A demonstrate keen insights into the energy landscape. Recently the university commissioned Planet A to design and deliver a short, CPD-type course focused on renewable energy systems integration whereby Planet A did a fantastic job with this course. Feedback from attendees and employers was great I am keen to thank Planet A for their contributions. I have no hesitation in recommending Planet A to deliver engineering and training solutions.

The technical expertise in energy solutions and modelling, as well as the exceptional project management and collaborative working that the Planet A team delivered, meant that WREN were able to deliver the outcomes and meet the aims of the Net Zero Communities project for our client, National Grid Electricity Distribution. The work that Planet A completed underpinned all of the decisions made around viable net zero options for our community, new community business models and the development of the Future Energy System Tool, which is now being used by community energy groups across England & Wales. The Planet A team are true professionals in what they do and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with them again in the future.

Our retrofit research project wouldn’t be the same without Planet A on board. Further to great work ethics they are renown for, and exceptional adaptability even during last year’s Covid restrictions, they brought a great deal of technical knowledge to the team and solid local connections to facilitate the resolution of many issues. Looking forward to the next collaboration!

Planet A delivered an insightful and comprehensive analysis of green hydrogen production which is now being used as the basis for funding applications to progress hydrogen infrastructure projects in the south west. The work included a detailed review of costs and opportunities together with full discounted cash flow analysis which highlighted key areas of business potential.

Planet A conducted an investigation on compliance requirements for our Australian designed product to enter the UK market. David and Amanda were a pleasure to deal with; very professional, transparent and clear communicators. They successfully navigated the various regulatory bodies, government departments and compliance consultants to provide clear direction to our business.

Under a research project run by the University of Exeter in Cornwall across 2024, I worked with Planet A on development and delivery of a new professional education programme. The course was focused on Integrated Energy Systems in the Built Environment, aimed at developing sustainability skills towards the future green economy for individuals in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Both Amanda and Dave were fantastic to work with. They are highly professional, experienced and knowledgeable across their sector. I found them to have a proactive, practical and solution-focused approach. And they really pulled out all the stops to deliver what was needed within very limited timeframes! We collaborated twice on delivering two cohorts successfully through the course, receiving highly positive feedback from learners.
I very much hope to continue working in collaboration with Planet A going forward!
